I was born and raised in Orlando, FL and grew up playing basketball since the age of 5. I received a scholarship to play on the VSU Women’s Basketball Team from 2004-2008 while obtaining my degree in Mass Media; Broadcast Journalism. During my 4 years as a Lady Blazer, we won the Eastern Conference Championship, finished #1 in the nation defensively for Division 2 twice, made three NCAA conference tournament appearances, and made it to the sweet 16! In 2008 upon graduating with my Bachelor’s degree, I became a Graduate Assistant for the Dean of Student’s office while obtaining my Master’s Degree in Public Administration in 2009. Since obtaining my Master’s Degree, I left VSU to work in the Hospitality Industry as a Human Resources Professional for 8 years but found my way back to VSU this year!
Favorite Spot on Campus: It’s no surprise that my favorite spot on campus is the Complex! Not only for my time spent on the court, but because of how exciting it is to see this it come to life by the students, faculty, staff and members in the community!
Advice for incoming students: My advice to students is to stay involved and attend as many on-campus events as you can! The memories you create and the people you meet along the way will stay with you for the rest of your life!
